With the big tree gone, the Perrys could look at their house—and see its sagging roof.
After they hired someone to remove the big tree in front of the house, Emily and Matt got their first good look at the roof and noticed it was sagging in the middle. “It brought tears to my eyes and I thought, What did we just do?” Emily says.
But Matt and Emily’s father, John Lussier, got right to work. They jacked up the roof about a half inch each day for a week, added extra structural support in the middle, and installed new shingles.
