Once unfinished with exposed beams, the garage interior now has an insulated ceiling sheathed in corrugated metal and wood-paneled walls-Amy used the paneling she ripped out of the living room to give the garage a rustic look. Two wall-hung cabinets hide garage clutter.

The garage also functions as a garden shed and an extension of the kitchen; recycling bins and a small refrigerator live here.

For comfort, Amy cushioned the concrete floor near the workbench with a few durable carpet squares.
